Nila and her passengers arrived in Indianapolis on June 29th
and went directly to the Indianapolis State Fairgrounds to park for the night.
Upon arriving, a group from the Murat RV Club zoomed over in an ATV to invite
us to join them in a reserved area. WOW! We couldn’t have been more welcomed or
better taken care of; what a great group of people from all over; Indiana,
California, Montana, Connecticut, Florida, Tennassee, Georgia, Illinois and
many more. We joined them on the morning of June 30th for a pancake
breakfast which was cooked and served by the RV Club. What a nice way to start
the day. Nila then had to be moved to Murat Shrine Center so she could get in
line for the Imperial Parade. We were informed that Nila’s position in the parade
had changed from the rear to directly behind the clowns and in front of the
Color Guard. We were thrilled with this news! Today, Nila is being cleaned,
shined and readied for her prestigious place in the Imperial Parade. This is an
extreme privilege for the Daughters of the Nile and we are most appreciative to
Imperial Sir Al Madsen for granting his permission. Thank you, sir! I’ll post
photos of the parade in my next journal entry.
